Sponsor Houchens Industries are pleased to announce the 2008 U.S.
Bank Balloons, Tunes and BBQ festival will take place September
11 - 14, 2008, at the Bowling Green / Warren County Regional Airport. The
festival is designed for the enjoyment of the entire family. Gates will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon and the event concludes with the final hot air
balloon competition on Sunday morning.
Net proceeds from the festival will once again support the United Way of
Southern Kentucky as it works to continue improving lives and building a
stronger community right here at home.
Balloons, Tunes and BBQ is opening for carnival rides and inflatable amusements for the first time ever on Thursday night and parking will be free. On Friday, parking will be $15 per car load from 3 p.m. until close. On Saturday, parking is $5 per car load from noon until 3 p.m., and $20 per car load from 3 p.m. until close.
Motorcycles will be admitted for $10 on Friday and Saturday after 3 p.m.
These parking fees allow spectators access to all entertainment on stage,
vendor display access, and the free children’s activities, including
petting zoo. Additional fees will apply for carnival rides, pony rides,
the inflatable amusements, food, souvenirs, and - weather and wind
conditions permitting - tethered balloon rides on Friday night. Patrons
are reminded personal coolers are not permitted on festival grounds.
